Nine Nights, One Ritual: Body Care for Navratri

Nine nights of dancing, fasting, dressing up and staying out late. Navratri is joyful, and it is also a lot for your skin. Here is how to let your body care keep pace, without turning it into another thing on the to-do list.
What Navratri does to your skin
Garba and dandiya mean hours of movement, sweat and heat in crowded spaces. Add the change of season, long evenings, heavy festive clothing and, for many, a fasting routine that means less water and fewer meals than usual. Skin from the neck down often takes the brunt: it feels tight after a shower, dull by the fifth night, rough on the arms and legs.

A simple rhythm for the nine nights
You don't need nine different products. You need a rhythm you can repeat in the five minutes you actually have.
Before you go out. Shower with a gentle, hydrating body wash rather than anything that leaves skin squeaky. Pat dry, leave skin slightly damp, and apply body cream to arms, shoulders, legs and any skin your outfit will show.
After the dance. Sweat, dust and heat are the real culprits. A lukewarm rinse and a hydrating wash, followed by cream while skin is still damp, helps you wake up with skin that feels soft instead of tight.
In between. Drink water between rounds, carry a small cream for elbows, hands and feet, and keep showers short and not too hot. If you are fasting, sip fluids through the day and keep your skin routine light and consistent.
Festive skin does not need more steps. It needs the right two.
Ingredients worth knowing
When skin is working overtime, soothing, moisture-focused formulas make sense. Eora's Moisture Drench range is built around three of them.

- Snow mushroom for a hydrated, cushiony feel.
- Centella Asiatica for a calm, comfortable feel on skin that has had a long day.
- Sea buckthorn oil to help skin feel nourished and look glowy.
Your Navratri body care checklist
- Hydrating wash, lukewarm water, short showers.
- Body cream within minutes of bathing, while skin is damp.
- Extra attention to arms, legs, elbows, heels and anywhere your outfit shows skin.
- Water between rounds, and a light, consistent routine on fasting days.
- Patch-test anything new before the first night, not during it.
